How Cook+Book Club Works
Cook+Book Club meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month to share dishes prepared from selected books in a potluck form with other Cook+Book participants. Your purchase of the featured book at Chapter One is your ticket to each dining event. Featured cookbooks are 10% off. Collaborating Hamilton Downtown businesses including Bauder Home, Curate, Jessi's Wine and Goods, O'Hara Commons, Flora & Fauna, Explore the Arts and Robin's on Main co-host the event throughout the year. In addition, Cook+Book club members receive 10% off wines for the club at Jessi's Wine and Goods.

December Pick: Bake Smart Holiday Cookie Exchange, December 13th 6pm at Jessi's Wine and Goods
Back by popular demand we are hosting another Cook+Book Holiday Cookie Exchange at Jessi's Wine and Goods. Our featured book is Samantha Senevirante's Bake Smart, a collection of baking recipes meant for riffing, tweaking and taking the precision out of baking to focus on what's important, a dessert worthy of baking again and again. In Bake Smart, Senevirante reveals when and when not to follow baking's most essential rules like ingredient temperature, when to add sugar and how to mix in flavors at just the right moment so even the most adventurous cook can successfully bake too and with less stress. Bake two dozen treats from the book or bring your own favorite cookie and swap sweets along with baking lessons learned with other bakers at the exchange. Make the assortment of treats into an easy gift with a decorative tin from Bauder Home or just fill your plate and enjoy the cookies for yourself at home.
In January we will be reading, What We Talk About When We Talk About Dumplings. While there are recipes in this book it is really an anthology of the history, lore and tradition of dumplings as they traveled the globe from China, transforming into innovative iterations on every continent (well except Antarctica). More details to come but if you want time to read it stop in to get yours today.
